This navigation tool is versatile and can be used to lay off a course or a bearing, measure distance between any two points, plot a position on a chart from a given set of coordinates, or determine the coordinates of a position on a chart. It is an update
Often used in a combination of two, our Protractor Triangle with Handle provides a straightforward method of plotting and performing chart work. Each triangle is inscribed with contrast enhancing colors (red & black), plus a handle that holds a pencil, making it convenient and easy to use. The protractor scale on the triangle can aid in drawing a bearing line on a chart, and the 90° angle is helpful when determining lines of position. When used in pairs, the second triangle acts as an extension, and the pair together are a reliable means to transfer a directional line on a chart with no slippage.
Heavy duty, crystal clear acrylic construction is the foundation for this simple to use, professional plotting aid. Arms are rigid enough to trace a bearing line. Can be used to position and chart from three identifiable shore, landmark, or buoy locations
This triangle is inscribed with black markings. Using two 45 triangles provides an easy method of plotting and performing chart work. With its protractor scales, the triangle is easily aligned in any direction with a chart meridian. Direction is maintain
The Basic Navigation Set provides the essential navigation instruments required for basic navigation, such as finding position, range, and bearing to a destination. The set, packaged in a clear, reusable plastic case, includes four tools; the Weems Protractor (255) (an updated version of Breton and Portland plotters), a parallel rule (145) for finding bearing and direction, a 6-inch divider (262) for measuring distance plus a navigation pencil.
This mix of plotting tools is a tremendous value. Features: #176 Ultralight Divider along with #139 milled 12" parallel rulers, #105 Nautical Slide Rule, and a navigator's pencil. Set comes packaged in a durable plastic storage pouch. Dims: 8" x 13-3/4".
This plain edge protractor is suitable for plotting courses and bearings. Notations can be made directly on the matte plastic surface with a pencil. Constructed of durable, transparent plastic. Instructions included. Dims: 5 square. Wt. 2 oz.
Accurate and durable milled 15 acrylic ruler with marine aluminum arms and handles. 0.12 inch thickness. Wt. 5 oz.
The 24 Inch Parallel Rule is primarily used for commercial purposes due to its extra long 24 inch acrylic construction, rigid chrome arms and handles. Parallel rulers are used to plot direction on nautical charts. Two straightedges are hinged so that they maintain the same angle. By alternating the moving edge, and securely holding down the non moving edge, you can move the rulers about the chart while still maintaining the same angle.
